Portville Hall of Fame
Elinor Wormer graduated from Wellsville High School in 1944. She
completed a degree in journalism at the University of Ohio in 1949. In 1953,
she married Donald Wormer and they returned to Portville in 1960. Eleanor
served on the Board of Education for many years and was an original member
and co-founder of the American Field Service Adult Chapter. She hosted a
number of foreign AFS students and paved the way for many PCS students to
go to school abroad for a year. She also served on the Greater Olean Area
Campfire Girls Council and Portville Historical and Preservation Society.
