Portville Hall of Fame
Carl J. Anderson’s love and concern for the residents of Portville began in
his youth. He served as a Trustee for the Village of Portville and Village Clerk.
As a member of Portville’s Board of Education, Carl was instrumental in
making Portville known as one of the finest schools in Cattaraugus County. A
lifetime member of Portville’s Bethel Lutheran Church, a belfry bell was given
in his honor which chimes each Sunday, reminding us of his lifetime
contribution to our community.
